ThingsThursday

Remember how I said I was going to do this? A mere once a week, outlined, cheerful blog post?

And then....

I didn't?

School seems busier this year.  I have practicum two times a week and I barely feel like I have a chance to look catch my breath and look ahead (my preferred method of studying...).  Instead I am operating on a 'what's due tomorrow' and maybe if it's super important, 'what's due next week' basis.  I feel my heart fluttering.  Might have to make some life adjustments in order to settle back down but I'm not quite sure what those are yet.

All that to say, I didn't even have a MOMENT last Thursday.  So.  Like.  Then I couldn't blog ever again until right now.

Ah well, such is life.  Some parts are busy and some aren't.  But I do really enjoy using this as a facet to process and to share and to emote. Lately, I've been wanting to share with you what I've been learning about the native community in Canada and how spectacularly ignorant I am... ...or how I've been crying and laughing over dear friends of mine who will finally be adding a new little baby to their family... ...or how I alternate through phases of desperately wanting to have a baby, then wanting a kitten, then wanting to pay off my student loans, and not entirely sure where this all comes from....

But for now:

1) To get us started, I AM OBSESSED WITH AUTUMN.  It's kind of weird.  I want to spend all my time with autumn.  I gaze longingly at autumn.  I immerse myself completely in autumn.  I take pictures of autumn.  I get panicked when I'm not outside because I feel like I'm not spending enough time with autumn.  I'm afraid that one day I'm going to wake up and autumn is going to be gone and it'll feel like grade 5 heartbreak.   Weird right?  Pff you probably feel it too...

2) Caprese Salad.  You're probably like "Brick, are you just looking at things in the office and saying that you like them?", but that is not the case!  Though it would be okay if it was, because Thursday is where we appreciate the under appreciated, so I-love-lamp away!  But seriously, Caprese Salad has rocked my world lately.  My pups-in-law gave us some buffalo mozzarella and it was all I could do not to eat all of it for every meal until it was gone.  Gawsh.  We ate the last bit of cheese tonight and I am trying to see if we have it in our budget to buy 30 more containers....

3) My double-walled stainless steel Starbucks mug!  Do you have a habit of going to work with a delicious cup of coffee/tea and then getting caught up with bizznuss and coming back to an unfortunately temperate, 3/4s full cup?  Well this mug changes everything!  It keeps my tea soso hot it makes me fearful to drink for the first hour.  Once I was sick and so I got up when Colin got up, made tea, took a few sips, went back to bed for two hours, and woke up to a hot tea.  ITSSOGREATGUSH.

The end :)
