Two Weeks In Japan

It has been two weeks since we left for our Japan adventure.  In some ways I can't believe it's gone by so fast, in other ways I can't believe we get to be here for so long. So far we have spent a couple days with our family in Tokyo, a couple days with family in Shizuoka (plus afternoon in Fuji city), six days exploring Osaka, a quick weekend in Hiroshima and the last few days in Kyoto.  We have seen castles and temples, hundreds of Torii gates, and vivid night life, explored expansive forest pathways and overwhelming train systems, and ate far beyond our heart's content.

One of my favourite things so far as been taking a ferry from Hiroshima to Itsukushi Island.  We strolled through the empty little town to the beach where we watched the sun set on a huge orange torii gate out in the sea.  Another favourite has been eating Ramen at Karako Ramen, a tiny little shop in Kyoto.  We went back twice and I think I will miss it for a long time....
