It feels a little opulent to be writing about a spa as one of my favorite places, so to be honest I probably only go here once a year. When I have a bit extra in my health spending account and my back is out of wack and I just want a little bit of extra relaxation... Riverside Spa is the place I love to go.
I've been to a few other spas in Calgary and none come close to the relaxing atmosphere that Riverside has. They have a super cozy waiting room with big comfy couches, loose leaf tea, and organic cookies, and they encourage you to come early in order to calm your body and mind down. Their change room is huge, has fresh bathrobes and sandals to wear for the duration of your time, they have a shower and steam room for before or after your massage, and all the amenities you may need for primping after your shower. The showers have three different nozzles (raindrop, normal, or body jets) and I use all three at once and stay in way too long. They also have the best smelling moisturizer ever which I splurged and purchased this past time because it is so yummy.
As you can see, I'm a bit in love with this place. It's a good thing it's a treat or I would spend way too much time and money here. This past time I had a one hour massage but probably spent almost three hours here with all the pre and post relaxing I did...
So if you really need a relaxing self-care evening OR you'd like to give this as a gift to your favorite mother or significant other...I would definitely recommend this as your number one stop!
