Cozy, quiet house, sipping coffee, baby down for her afternoon nap. Just a week ago she was fighting her afternoon naps like crazy and we had the worst week of nighttime sleep. Since then we realized that she needed an exact nap schedule rather than the flexible one that had been working previously, she fought a cold, and just a couple days ago I finally felt her first tooth.
I've said it before and I'll say it again, life is completely unpredictable and constantly changing with a baby. One day I will feel completely overwhelmed, unsure how I will make it past the first year if ______ continues... The next day I will feel accomplished and proud of both Sloane and myself for having figured out whatever it was we needed to figure out. While it is less of a rollercoaster than it was in the first couple months, it is a rollercoaster nonetheless.
Despite the 'allovertheplace'ness, she is so interesting. Over the past month it seems like she has learnt something new every day. Sitting, pulling herself to her knees, rocking back and forth, growling, kissy faces, blowing raspberries, dancing, eating...
Her ability to interact has exploded! She's constantly trying to get our attention, copying us, or making new sounds for us to copy. It is so much fun. It's no longer just us entertaining her, we are entertaining each other. If Colin and I have been talking to each other for too long she will grunt or yell to be involved in the conversation. She wants to be in on what we are saying and doing.
I love her sleepy face when I get her up from a nap.
I love sharing breakfast together.
I love her smile of accomplishment when she gets our attention.
I love bubble baths on grey days with her.
