She's definitely not a wee newborn anymore. This little gal is chubbier than ever, in moving and rolling all over the place, and FINALLY laughs at my jokes (sometimes...)
Her eyes have stayed blue and her hair is fuzzing out. Her fine motor skill development is a wonder to watch, and she has more and more to say.
We took her to 3 other Canadian provinces this month and she got to meet many of her extended family on both sides of the family. It's been so fun for the three of us to be able to visit all these awesome family members! We learned a lot about what we would (Play in the water! Eat lots of food!) and wouldn't do (Too much driving...) on our future vacations. Sloane travelled like a total champ and we got to experience the changes of travelling with baby (historical buildings only accessible by stairs are officially off limits with stroller, and dinners in the hotel after baby bed time are lit by the romantic light of the bathroom)
I keep saying it but things are moving crazy fast. I'm like, "hold on, I just barely got to know 2 month old Sloane and now we're at 5 months!?". It's this crazy, confusing journey of loving who she is, being excited for what's to come, and mourning what has already passed. In one moment I'll be saying, "You can do it! You're going to be crawling in no time!", then, "OMG, crawling is going to be crazy, slow down" and then browsing old photos and thinking, "I miss when she was the length of my arm and could only move closer to me..." My brain and heart are confused, but happy.
