Our Gardenia is struggling. Apparently this is very Gardenia-like, to struggle unexpectedly. It's a plant with unique needs, but it won't tell you forthright. So you must close a window and open another, turn it just so, fill it to the brim and parch it, feed it coffee and pickle juice and egg shells and give it its own humidifier and you must wait. It is particular. But those creamy white blooms that gift you with their delicious fragrance are so incredible for the few months of the year they're around, that I'm trying. Fertilizer. Acidic fertilizer. Gardenia's are acid heads. Now you know.
It's early in the season so the greenhouse was still pretty sparse, but it was lovely to be in the warm environment surrounded by budding greens. And a resident bunny and cat. Sloane would have followed that bunny to the ends of the earth.
