We had our first ultrasound today. Little Luff has been incubating and growing for the past 20 (well technically 18) weeks from a ball of cells to a hand-sized human who has all the important bits. It has teeny toes, quick moving hands that the tech had a hard time taking a picture of, a beating heart, and a strong head with which to headbutt me!
I can't believe it's real, and that in twenty (ish) weeks we get to meet it for real.
My stomach has finally grown slightly larger than 'just a big dinner' size, and my winter coat is starting to get a little tight in the zipper. It feels like Luffy moves a LOT, and now that I know it's probably been the head I've been feeling, I understand the strength of some of those movements. I don't have strong cravings necessarily but I feel like I'm hungry CONSTANTLY. I've had to stock up on healthy foods to justify all the snacking. It feels weird to get on the scale and realize I've gained 11 pounds in just four months, but I am trying to remind my brain that this is totally normal and good! (damn you, culture, for telling me it's not!)
And that's it! Halfway in, halfway to go. Holy cannoli!
